Surviving From Natural Disaster

Almost everyone in one way or another has experienced some sort of natural disaster. May have been a tornado, hurricanes, tsunamis, earthquakes, or other life-threatening event created by nature.

You can almost think that nobody is really prepared for these events, especially if we are taken aback by them. The basic premise for the survival of such events is reduced to maintain calm. Remember that the only thing to fear is fear itself. You might think, easier said than done. In fact, it’s easier said than done. If all of panic during a natural disaster could be detrimental to your survival and perhaps for others around you.

It is hard to be ready for any disaster, if you’ve done all emergency planning, with the idea that you are in a particular place at this event. It is likely that you may be away from home in case of disaster. Do not put all your eggs in one basket.
Taking survival items with you on the road is recommended especially if headed to a place known for being a danger zone.

An effective way to prepare for any disaster is to become familiar with the event itself. There are many articles and news, both on the Internet and television. An example is really good to watch the Discovery Channel and The Weather Channel cable or satellite. Imagine being placed in identical situations. Think what it would do. If you can not think of how to treat these types of situations Here are some guidelines that can offer assistance.

Mental preparation

Probably the most important thing that you need help to survive a disaster.
Firstly the idea of his head who can not or will not happen.

If you live in a particular area, which is subject to certain natural events like hurricanes, for example, can run as much research as possible on this subject. Read stories about people who have survived a tornado. Can not read the person did not survive as a cons-productive. Watch Discovery Channel The Weather Channel, or when there is a show about tornados.

Expect that one can not be home when a strike. Perhaps you are visiting a relative or neighbor. Ask your relative or neighbor what they expected when such events occur. If you have ever had the chance to actually see a tornado from a safe distance, I recommend you do. This may help overcome some fears that you may have of them.

Develop common sense is critical. Common sense is what you count. Common sense comes from knowledge, beliefs and experience you have. Obtaining knowledge is easy. Gaining experience is not. That’s why you need to read or stories for people who have survived a disaster. So put yourself in their place. Do what they did to survive. This will help develop common sense. You must make a couple of times at regular intervals until it is inserted into your subconscious. Your beliefs should change to think you’re dying to believe that we survive.

Physical preparation:

This happens in three parts. The first part is you physically prepared. Being healthy is very important. Get physical activity like running, swimming or cycling. Eat healthy foods and try to lose weight if you are overweight. If you’re weak, you can not run or unable to lift heavy objects, then you should be in better shape. Of course, some people can not do these things because of disability or age. If you belong to one of these categories, then someone who can do these things may come to your aid if necessary.
Take a course in CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation). There are many places that offer this training free. If you have several family members who live with you, I will also attend the training.

The second most important thing is to keep the scope of the factors that can contribute to help in emergencies. A mobile phone, 2 way radio, flashlight and first aid kits are good examples. If you’re away from home to keep these items in your car would be useful. If you do not have a car, or are a good distance away, consider a backpack, or purse can contain these elements.

Thirdly, always aware of current and pending weather conditions before any trip, even short distances. Take a quick look on the Internet, or The Weather Channel.
It will only take a few minutes of your time.

Prepare a written plan and ensuring that the family knew about it. Within this plan include a place where everyone can meet Incase has been separated from each other. A post of principal and a secondary position would be a good idea. If the natural disaster is high, when a whole state is interested, then created a place in another state where everyone can meet.

Conclusion

Remember that you are only powerless if you think you are powerless. Good preparation is the key to surviving a disaster. Stay informed.
