The Ministry of Interior has issued three new orders of natural disasters in the Official Gazette. The period runs from October 21. This leaves only a few days to manifest itself from its insurer. Here is a topo on the steps you must perform with him for compensation.
3 arrested interdepartmental disaster were taken October 16, 2009, but were published in the Official Gazette of October 21, 2009. You have 10 days from the date of 21 to get in touch with your insurer and report the damages you have suffered. For those who would have missed the information, you have until November 3 to know your situation with your insurer. Only persons who purchased insurance for property and casualty damage their property, real estate and vehicles or operating losses for their company are entitled to compensation from their insurance.
In addition, to expedite the compensation, it is strongly advised to attach to your tax claims all the documents needed to quantify the amount of damage (invoices, appraisals, photographs …).
As we will explain a case of writing previous to the professionals, the French Federation of Insurance Companies (FFSA) has set an example of documents required for insurers: a certificate of ownership or lease for property damage, an extract from the register of trade, balance sheets and income statements with detailed accounts of income and expenses, the turnover of the current and previous three.
The three arrested are in the form of a long list of all affected municipalities divided into two categories. Those for which the state of disaster has been chosen according to a specific event and dated (mudslide and flooding of May 13, 2009 for the common Vassogne for example) and opens the right to the Insurance compensation. And those for which unfortunately there was no recognition.
In total, more than forty departments are concerned. Here are the links to the 3 orders that affect one or the other category described above. To access the official list, click here, here and here.
From the moment that your insurer has been informed of your status within the statutory period, it has three months to compensate you.
